MSA | BOOK LAUNCH | Stef Galea

Within its’ pages, Galea reflects on the notion of identity as something residual and ever-shifting - a waveform that shapes, erodes, and reshapes the self. The work which moves between the cinematic and the intimate, muses on themes of femininity, shame, religion, and heritage - how the body holds culture, how identity shifts like the sea and how it ties to the two islands she now hails from. 

The book is designed by Studio Matthew Roland Bannister and features poetry by Maltese poet Elizabeth Grech whose words frame the photographs in a shared language of memory and longing. The night will feature a curated playlist by sound artist Yasmin Kuymizakis aka Joon. The Event is kindly supported by Ellul Wines and Spirits.
